Orlando’s theme parks

Walt Disney World Resort has four theme parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom) plus two water parks. Universal Orlando Resort includes Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Epic Universe, which opened in 2025. SeaWorld Orlando, LEGOLAND Florida and Kennedy Space Center are all within reach too.

Where to stay

  • On-site resort hotels keep you close to the parks, and some include perks such as early park entry.
  • International Drive has a huge range of hotels, restaurants and attractions between the main parks.
  • Vacation homes in areas such as Kissimmee give families space, kitchens and private pools.

When to visit

Late winter, spring and autumn usually bring the most comfortable weather. Summers are hot and humid with frequent afternoon storms, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June to November. School holidays and US public holidays are the busiest, and most expensive, times in the parks.

Getting there and getting around

Orlando International Airport (MCO) has direct flights from the UK and Europe, and from across the US. UK and most EU visitors travelling under the Visa Waiver Program need an approved ESTA before they fly. Many visitors hire a car, as attractions are spread out, though resort shuttles and rideshares are also common.
